Certified RV Service is owned by Michael Kurtz. The company was founded on Mikes desire to utilize his 25+ years in the RV industry helping people. His passion for building, designing and providing service is what lead him to go into business on his own.
We didn’t start with a plan. Actually a friend asked mike to get involved with FEMA units. Mike’s willingness to help others prompted him and 2 friends to begin working day and night sourcing, inspecting and assisting in the delivery of units to hurricane disaster areas. From there we talked about service and helping dealers with internet sales. Since Mike’s experience was in the service and customer service area, we knew that the next natural progression was to meet with customers, deliver units and assist dealers with successful deliveries boosting interest and satisfaction in the RV marketplace.
At some point during this progress Mike turned some interest toward classic campers. We bought a few, restored a few and sold them. We really enjoy doing this and it has become a natural part of our daily business.
Living in the RV Capitol of the world helps us tremendously. We have access to most parts and can drive to pick them up. This makes our job easier, more efficient and less costly.
Since this all began, we have grown through three buildings, landing close to our home in a nice neighborhood on the south side of Elkhart Indiana, just off the SR 19 and US 20 Bypass interchange. Since the beginning, we have enjoyed the process of nurturing a growing company, including restoration, service and custom manufacturing; and needless to say, we love it. Being close to home, allows our entire family to be involved. We have 3 daughters, Haley 14, Jordyn 12 and Mylei 2.5 years, with Kaydei due in May of this year. They are a big help in the office or occasionally handing dad tools as he works hands on in the shop, "They don’t fix units but they stick by our sides to see what we are doing."
